The Pocket Stick is made of Bahi hardwood. Pocket Sticks are also called Dulo Dulo or Palmsticks on the Philippines.
Bahi wood is a hardwood from the Philippines, which has a high natural strength and undergoes an additional a fire hardening process. Bahi wood has a solid fibrous stucture, which enhances the stability of the stick considerably. The distinctive lightbrown-black dotted texture of Bahi is also caused by the fibres of the hard wood.
The Pocket Stick is used for the training of FMA -Arnis, Escrima, Kali- techniques which work on very short distance and target the activation of pressure points. The Pocket Stick is used as a pressure and leverage multiplier.
Training with the Pocket Stick can be very useful, also in order to practice a alternative way of self-defence with similar items of daily life.
