Our Tournament Rattan Stick for competition or sparring, with blue paint mark in the center of the stick.
The Tournament Rattan Sticks are made of stripped Rattan. They are manufactured in the Philippines specially for competition and sparring in Filipino Martial Arts - Arnis, Escrima, Kali. The edges are rounded and sealed.
The sticks are made of light weight, unvarnished Rattan of tourney quality.
Rattan is best for training Filipino Martial Arts, since it has a very high stability and flexibility due to the fibre structure of Rattan. The fibres of the material also absorb microvibrations caused by 'stick to stick' blows, so that the joints suffer less stress. This enables an effective and enduring training experience.
Any abrasion of Rattan due to hard training does not lead to a breaking of the stick with sharp splints, but just to a softening and defibration of the stick.
